Stella Collins is Creative Director at Stellar Learning; transforming training particularly if it’s tough, technical or tortuous.
Stella is the author of Kogan Page’s sellout book ‘Neuroscience for Learning and Development’ , translated into 3 other language, a Guide to Self Directed Learning; co-author of the Webinar Pocketbook and the Writing Skills Pocketbook as well as writing for online and printed magazines and journals.
She has a BSc in Psychology, an MSc in Human Communication, is a Fellow of the Insitute of Training and Occupational Learning and has a business background in the IT industry.
Stella inspires audiences at learning conference in the UK, Europe and Africa, judges learning awards and is regularly invited to participate in round table discussions and international events. She is a contributor and consultant to the CIPD’s professional online qualifications and has regularly appeared on LearningnowTV since its inception.
She has a clear understanding of the challenges faced by people asked to communicate tough or technical messages and applies neuroscience and psychology principles to finding practical solutions to real life issues. She also regularly designs and delivers training herself, so she knows that the principles she shares work in the real world and deliver genuine return on investment. Stella has trained over 1,000 learning professionals in brain friendly principles. She is currently learning Spanish using the best learning technique of immersion by moving to Spain.
Stella’s company Stellar Learning consistently use the 'brain friendly' approach to consult on, design and deliver result based, sticky, learning programmes, underpinned by research but with a creative twist. They work with blue chip organisations, government departments, charities and award winning science and technology companies in the UK and internationally.
Stella also founded the succesful Brain Friendly Learning Group, a network for learning professionals with an interest in the brain. Stella says 'There is no such thing as a boring topic - just boring training'.
